Masterclass on music by Corelli and Händel at Fuglsang Castle

The Royal Danish Academy of Music is giving a masterclass on the chamber music and orchestral works of Händel and Corelli. Tutors are the members of the celebrated baroque ensemble, Baroque Fever

Celebrating the establishment of an Early Music Department at The Royal Danish Academy of Music we invite music students from the Nordic countries to participate in a masterclass on the chamber music and orchestra works for strings and basso continuo by A. Corelli and G. F. Händel held at Fuglsang Castle in Denmark.
Tutors will be the members of the celebrated baroque ensemble Baroque Fever: Peter Spissky and Bjarte Eike, baroque violin, Thomas Pitt, baroque cello and Allan Ramussen, harpsichord.
The masterclass, culminating in two public concerts in Nykøbing Falster and Copenhagen, is designed for advanced music students from higher music educations in the Nordic countries.
DAILY SCHEDULE
July 5th-10th: Masterclasses, ensemble coaching, lectures, and rehearsals leading to two concerts in Nykøbing Falster on July 9th at 8.00 pm and in Copenhagen on July 10th at 3.00 pm.
ADMISSION
Admission is limited to 35 active string players and continuo players.
We reserve the right to select participants in order to secure the composition of the orchestra.
Notification about admittance will be given shortly after application deadline.

COURSE FEE
The course fee amounts to a total of DKR 2.000 and covers tuition as well as accommodation in Fuglsang Castle and meals.
You can apply to your school for covering of the course fee.
Students from institutions outside Denmark and within the Nordplus network can apply for grants to cover (part of) the travel expenses. Please state the estimated travel expenses in the application form.
ARRIVAL
Monday July 5th. Classes begin at 3.00 pm.
DEPARTURE
The masterclass finishes after the concert in Garnisons Church in Copenhagen on Saturday July 10th.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION
May 14th 2004.
All applicants should send a tape and a short Curriculum Vita along with their application.
If you wish to attend the solo and chamber music class please suggest repertoire. If you need any advice on repertoire, feel free to contact the tutors.
