Debut Hanzhi Wang

Accordeonisten Hanzhi Wang debuterer fra DKDM's solistklasse 5. december 2018

Hanzhi Wang’s concert career has already taken her around the globe with performances in US, Europe and Asia. Ms. Wang made her debut in the Young Concert Artists Series in New York, opening the 2018-19 season in the Peter Marino Concert at Carnegie Hall. Her Washington DC debut at the Kennedy Center was co-presented with Washington Performing Arts.

In July 2018 Hanzhi Wang was named "New Artist of the Month" by Musical America, and in August 2018 she released Naxos first ever solo accordion CD; "On the Path of H.C. Andersen." The CD contains only contemporary Danish music for the accordion, where she wanted to show the diversity of the accordion repertoire. She has been worldwide praised for this recording, and has been on Naxos best-seller list.

A First Prize Winner of the 2017 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, she was awarded numerous special performance prizes for concerts all over US, as well as Canada, Mexico, Columbia and Germany. For the upcoming season, she will perform in Illinois, with IRIS Orchestra in Tennessee and at the Bravo! Vail Music Festival, as well as performances in Milano and several European countries.

She has won numerous prizes in various accordion competitions around the world, and she has appeared at lots of universities and festivals to lecture, perform and give master classes, including the Manhattan School of Music, Royal Danish Academy of Music, Tianjin Music Conservatory, Beijing’s Capital Normal University and Tilburg and Gent Music Conservatories (Belgium).

Hanzhi Wang holds the Ruth Laredo Prize and the Mortimer Levitt Career Development Award for Women Artists of YCA. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at the China Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, and her Master’s degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen as a student of Professor Geir Draugsvoll.
