Teaching and professional practice

Since 2017, Anne Gry has been employed as an associate professor at RDAM, where she works with artistic research on many levels, from teaching critical reflection in “Methodology for the Reflection Assignment” at Master’s level and teaching in artistic research tracks for soloists, to project development and advice on artistic research projects at teacher level and advising on the development of the field at institutional level. She has developed the collaborative format Artistic Research Forum at RDAM and is also the project leader of the research project Art and Learning. Anne Gry is also an examination moderator and a member of the RDAM artistic research (FOKU) committee.

In the period 2021-2022, Anne Gry, in collaboration with the pianist Søren Rastogi, will carry out the project Klassisk KUV – En afdækning af litteratur om KUV blandt udøvende klassiske musikere (Classical Artistic Research – a survey of the literature on artistic research among performing classical musicians). This is a pilot project, the aim of which is to provide a nuanced presentation of issues and methods relating to artistic research in the context of classical music performance, as presented in the international literature on artistic research.

In the period 2021-2022, Anne Gry, in collaboration with artistic research (FOKU) director Eva Hess Thaysen, will carry out the project Diversitet og inklusion i klassisk musik (Diversity and Inclusion in Classical Music) – the development of a three-year theme for activities at RDAM within artistic practice, development activities and research.

Besides participating in the research project Art and Learning, Anne Gry carries out ongoing research work, primarily in the form of conceptual analyses in the field of artistic development.

Anne Gry is engaged in artistic development internationally, especially in Scandinavia, where she regularly acts as a supervisor and opponent in Third Cycle, and as a presenter and moderator at seminars and workshops.

Anne Gry is a member of the Think-tank for Artistic Research-based Education at CEMPE (Centre for Excellence in Music Performance Education), Norwegian Academy of Music.

Anne Gry also regularly participates in conferences organised by AEC (Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen) and SAR (Society for Artistic Research).
