Jens Søndergaard graduated from the Opera Academy in 2003, and made his debut from the soloist class (Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Music) of the Royal Danish Academy Of Music in 2005.

In 2013 he completed his Master’s programme in Elite Voice Pedagogy.

Teaching

Since 2012, Jens has worked as a voice teacher in the preparatory class for academies (MGK) in Frederiksberg, and later also at RDAM and the Opera Academy.

Artistic practice

From 2004-2007, Jens was a member of the soloist ensemble at Das Deutsche Nationaltheater Weimar. Since 2007 he has worked as a freelancer and guest performer in productions at Halle Opera House, the Norwegian Opera and Ballet, Theater St. Gallen, the Danish National Opera, Operaen i Midten, Aarhus Summer Opera, the Underground Opera, the Funen Opera and the Royal Theatre, as well as at the New Opera in Esbjerg. In August 2020, Jens became a permanent member of the soloist ensemble of the Royal Theatre.

Jens also has an extensive career as a concert singer, and is represented by Ascolta Artists.
