KONTRAST - Balkan meets Tango

The Balkans, Tango and Other Dances

When the Kontrast Festival takes over Blågårds Apotek, rhythms, temperaments and musical traditions from different parts of the world come together. This concert takes dance as its starting point – from the offbeat rhythms and powerful energy of Balkan music to the intensity of the tango and other musical detours.

Students from the accordion and guitar classes at the Royal Danish Academy of Music present a varied programme featuring music by, amongst others, Astor Piazzolla, Atanas Ourkouzounov, Alexander Borodin, Uroš Rojko and Sven Erik Werner.

Performing on stage will be Ludvig Schmidl, Alice Wang, Gemini Duo, Pengfei Xue, Catalin Gusevatii, Deny Vogrin, Ibon Asua and others.

An evening of accordion and guitar in many different guises – from the raw and rhythmic to the virtuosic, lyrical and intense.
