The 20-year-old pianist was hailed as the winner by the audience and a professional jury, which emphasized musicality, technique, and delivery skills.

As the winner, Sebastian Egebakken Svenøy receives the Norwegian Soloist Prize of 100,000 kr., and he will represent Norway in the international competition Eurovision Young Musicians, considered one of the world's most important competitions. Additionally, he will have a solo performance with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and his own concert during the Bergen International Festival in the spring of 2024.

It was a visibly moved and very happy Sebastian who was announced as the winner on Saturday evening, and Jens Elvekjær says: "It is a fantastic achievement for a first-year bachelor student to win Virtuos as the first piano student ever, and it shows a great dynamic in the piano group."
