Léonie Sonning Talent Prize Recipients 2026

RDAM students are strongly represented among this year’s awardees

On 23 April 2026, the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation awarded this year’s Talent Prizes to ten young musical talents.

“The boldness among this year’s Léonie Sonning Talent Prize recipients is striking. At an early age, they have already made decisive life choices and chosen to follow their passion for music. With curiosity and courage, they pursue their own paths.  (…) At the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation, we aim to support and encourage these talents in their continued development,” says Esben Tange, Chairman of the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation.

Unlike other grants, the Léonie Sonning Talent Prizes cannot be applied for – they are awarded by the Foundation’s board, and we are proud to see our students among the recipients. Together with their guests, this year’s awardees attended a festive ceremony in the Carl Nielsen Foyer, where they received the prize and the accompanying DKK 100,000 from the board of the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation.

“This year’s recipients represent a wide spectrum of the classical music scene – from soloists and chamber musicians to singers and sound engineers. Several work across genres and forms of expression, thereby contributing to the development and renewal of classical music,” writes the Léonie Sonning Music Foundation in its press release.

  • Sebastian Deleuran, RDAM
