CONSPED 2.0 – Bringing 1:1 teaching into the future
The CONSPED 2.0 Symposium in late May served as a launchpad for the continued development and research of one of the most fundamental elements of education within higher music education: 1:1 teaching.
We welcomed our Nordic partners alongside colleagues from Amsterdam, Lübeck, Vilnius, Wales and London, forming a strong and diverse group of teachers, researchers, presenters, institutional leaders and alumni.
The symposium was rooted in the Nordic Pedagogy in Practice project, which was established in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic to create opportunities for strengthening connections with our students, colleagues and partners across the Nordic region. The CONSPED 2.0 Symposium marks the conclusion of this project while simultaneously inaugurating a new platform for professional development and collaboration in the advancement of 1:1 teaching.
A key premise of this work is that the future development of 1:1 teaching can only be achieved collectively. Through academic and research-based presentations, knowledge exchange and the sharing of teaching experiences, the symposium highlighted how greater openness, reflection and collaborative inquiry can drive meaningful development.

The initiative aims to foster a renewed focus on collaborative approaches to the professional development of our teaching staff.
