Søren Christian Vestergaard appointed new Organ Professor (MSO) at the Royal Danish Academy of Music
Effective 1 September 2025, the Royal Danish Academy of Music appoints organist and cantor Søren Christian Vestergaard as Professor (MSO) of Organ and Head of the Church Music and Consort Department.
Søren Christian Vestergaard has been teaching at the Academy since 2002 and has had a long career as a soloist at the international level.
As organist, cantor, and conductor at Trinitatis Church, Søren Christian Vestergaard has for many years led major concert projects and been a driving force behind the church’s distinctive musical profile.
“Søren Christian Vestergaard is a great asset – artistically, pedagogically, and administratively – as well as a creator of projects. We look forward to working with him and to seeing him, together with the strong team of teachers in the Church Music Department, continue developing our programmes and strengthening the Academy’s ties to the professional music world,” says Helene Gjerris.
